Hello Whites,
I've been a White's customer for many years now and
continue to be impressed by the capabilities of your
machines. For most of my early detecting years I would
for the most part hunt in areas that have been
thoroughly hunted out. The past year or so some of the
junior members of my family have been teaching their
complacent uncle the values of good research. My nephew
is very good at the research end of this hobby. He has
been pointing out some of the early history of our side
of PA. When he found out that a pre 1900 defunct park
is in our county, we couldn't wait to hit it with our
Pro-XLs. After attaining permission with the cordial
landowner we began our hunt. After many good discoveries
an adjacent farm field caught our attention. We
proceeded to work our way to it. We were detecting for
about a half hour when my detector told me that a penny
or dime was 4 inches deep. Out popped an 1804 Draped
bust half cent in great shape. Thirty minutes later my
detector told me a similar reading. Three inches later a
1794 Liberty cap half cent. This one was more worn but
entirely identifiable. Fast forward two weeks and I
found myself being drawn to this same area only it was 9
degress but with a 20 below windchill. This did not stop
our hardy family. Being prepared with hammer and chisels
we assaulted the field. I was rewarded with a bust
facing right 1785 Conn. copper. Wow, I was about ready
to kiss my research partner but that would have been a
little weird. We danced a jig on a very memorable cold
day. A week later we were magnetically drawn to the same
small 30 ft. by 30 ft. area. Five minutes of detecting
and 30 minutes of chiseling out comes a Draped bust large
cent of unreadabe date. Two ft. past this one I got a
similar reading. Another large cent. I about passed out
when I saw what it was. A 1794 Liberty cap large cent,
very thick with writing on the side of the coin. I can't
believe I found three 1700's coins in less than a month
in extremely adverse weather conditions. That makes me
believe that this will be an awesome year. Thank you
Whites for your fine machines. I am looking forward to
buying my new White's digital
Chris from Pa.
