White’s, I would like to submit a story for the detector finds I was using a DFX this year is my 4th with it. I also own an IDX since 2000 I went back to one of my favorite hunting spots. The main reason for this is about a month ago I made some adjustments to one of my custom programs. Those changes made the machine a lot easier to listen to even though I was accepting all targets from -95 to +95 in that month I found 4 silver quarters and a silver ring along with about $30 in clad. I’m thinking gee this machine is working so good where should I go. I keep a log of all my detecting trips, writing down what program and any additional adjustments I make. How much money was found and if a special target was found like an old wheat penny or silver coin. Looking back at last year there was a spot where I found two very good targets within about 200 feet on two different days. One target was a flat hollow guilt button with the old style loop surrounded by lots of junk. It took a couple of minutes just to decide to dig; it was in pretty good shape. My guess it is from before 1900. The other my best coin find of last year a 1787 Connecticut copper down around 9 in. Its condition was barely readable but a thrilling find. Well on this trip I decided to dig all positive readings. After digging a few shotgun casings and a dog tag I get a dime reading, it sounds real nice. But size wise it is too big to be a dime. Digging down just 4 inches out pops a large copper coin, it looked British to me. At home after soaking in water for a few minutes the magnifying glass shows VERMON AUCTORI a Vermont copper can’t see the date on it but I think it’s 1787. Thanks, Mark
